This is
THE AMONG DREAMS LGBTQI MILITARY ARCHIVE

Join us in etching a history from the source, from those who have lived and endured, a history with which we can truly acknowledge and attribute those who have served our nation in the progress of greater LGBTQI acceptance, understanding and freedoms.

You have had a hand in the progress we see today.  Help us to understand how we’ve come so far.  Share your brave story with the archive.  Let our younger generations gather their history from the voices of the people who lived them.

Write Your Story

Narrative

Download the questionnaire below and have  a look.  We encourage you to write deeply into questions that you are moved to think about and ignore those questions that seem dull or do not apply.  Or just free-write on your own.  Please write as frankly as possible – go in any direction that makes most sense to you and allows you to be most candid- the questions aren’t meant to restrict or complicate your thought process, rather to guide and enrich your reflections. Have your way with this assignment- let these questions be a simple guide to telling your story- it needn’t be treated as a firm directive. There are no wrong answers. Please be a colorful as possible in your descriptions.  Detail, detail, detail.

Record Your Story

Voice/ Oral Histories

Your recording decive can be as simple as a cell phone, a tape recorder, a video camera, or a computer. We encourage recorded submissions if you have the means to visually or voice record your story.  Describe situations using emotions when possible.  How did that make you feel?  Try to record in a quiet place, if possible.
